Read guide →In northern Patagonia, the main trout season runs from November through May — when most rivers and lakes are at their best. A few waters fish year-round, but every outing depends on local regulations, weather and what the river is doing at that moment.
The usual opening month of the season. Spring brings warming waters, active fish and landscapes coming back to life, though weather can still change quickly.
Peak summer fishing: long days, warmer weather and strong opportunities for dry fly fishing. It is also the busiest travel period in Patagonia.
A favourite period for many anglers. Cooler days, autumn colours and actively feeding trout make for some of the most rewarding conditions of the year, often with a more technical rhythm.
As the main season closes, options become more limited. Some lakes and rivers may remain fishable or carry extended rules, but each one needs to be checked individually before planning.

No — we can provide rods, reels, lines and a selection of flies. If you prefer to bring your own gear, we will work with whatever you have. Just let us know in advance.
Each angler needs an individual license. We explain which one you need and where to purchase it (online or in town) before the outing. The cost is paid separately by each guest.
Absolutely. Many guests are complete beginners. We slow the pace down, explain the basics clearly and pick friendlier waters where you can learn at your own rhythm.
Northern Patagonia is mostly home to brown trout and rainbow trout, with brook trout in some waters. Sizes vary by river, season and conditions — we focus on the quality of the day rather than chasing numbers.
Patagonia weather can change quickly. Light rain or wind is rarely a problem — we adjust the day and the spots. Only severe conditions cancel an outing, and we discuss this with you in advance.
